NOTE from Zoe to all the communty: Dance Home for FREE in June, AND change is coming in July!! Hello lovely dance community!! This email touches on some exciting changes that are happening with Dance Home (DH): Many of you know that the structure of DH has changed recently, as Mark Klosterman has recently transitioned out of the director role of DH. In the meantime, there is an Iterim Management Team (IMT), consisting of Zoe, Reed, and Varadaan, who have taken over Mark's old responsibilities. The IMT has taken into consideration a recent disscussion involving the DH community, Board, and Dance Team, about possibly changing the DH weekly event from Tuesday to another day of the week. The main reason for a schedule change would be the consistent low attendance, which means we haven't consistently covered operating costs for several months. The reason for consistant low attendance is probably caused by competition with another great dance event, Gypsy Nation. The IMT heard and considered all of the responses offered by members of the DH community and the choice has been made to move our beloved DH event to THURSDAYS, starting on July 1, 2008. We truly think that this will give you, the dancers of Boulder, the best opportunity to continue to enjoy DH as well as other dance events that Boulder has to offer, and it will also help DH pay the bills and stay in the community as it has for 15 years. We know this is shocking to some of you, as DH has happened on Tuesdays since its inception! And so, as a BIG THANK YOU to all of you dancers who have made DH thrive for the last 15 years, and a farewell to Tuesdays at DH, we are offering FREE TUESDAY DANCES during all of June!! Spread the word around town! Dances will be held every Tuesday in June at Solstice from 8-11pm. (note the time change for June) There will be no Friday dance in June. I also want to send a huge thanks to all of the DJs and hosts who will be donating their time during June! So, in summary: June = free Tuesday dances at Solstice from 8-11. No Friday dance. July = start of new DH weekly structure of THURSDAY dances!! The new cost will be $6-8, but if you want to still get in for $5 price, you can if you buy a punch card. Punch cards cost $50, and get you 10 dances, so it's ends up being $5 each. AND........We need help!! Would you like to help out DH by hosting, doing publicity, help schedule DJs? Do you have another idea about how you can help? Just respond to reedplay@gmail.com or sitikiti@hotmail.com or talk to Zoe, Reed, or Varadaam in person.
